Mildred Louise Newton was known to the McCann clan of California as Aunt Louise, mainly because of the fact our mother had the same name. My mother on the other hand became Aunt Midge to the Newton's and many other family members on both sides of the family tree. My mother has always said, her name "Mildred" was a good name for a cow. I guess that's because she grew up on a farm where they had cows named Mildred. I'll have to ask her for clarification on that one.
I remember at Aunt Louise's eulogy, when they said her name, it gave me a chill.
